Turquoise, coveted for nearly 4000 years, is believed to be the master healer stone and is useful in drawing love, money, health and beauty. It is the birthstone of December, Zodiac stone for Sagittarius and the gemstone for the 5th year of marriage. Much of the beautiful turquoise beads I use are mined and processed in the Hubei Province in central China.

It is a soft gemstone ranging in color from sky blue (the best quality), to apple green through to gray-green. Genuine turquoise is heat treated or stabilized with resin to harden and preserve the stone. This process permeates each piece with a clear resin to harden it and keep it from absorbing damaging body oils and adds a consistent color throughout the stone. Turquoise should be cleaned with a soft cloth and protected from extreme heat and bright sunlight.

Turquoise is sacred to both Native Americans and Oriental traditions. It is associated with the sky and brings sky energy to the earth. It is believed to promote self awareness and self truth, improve analytical thinking, and promote honest and clear communications from the heart.
